Guiding You To A Healthier Lifestyle

Nutrition Insights located in Lockport, NY is owned and operated by local registered dietitian, Amy Beney. Committed to helping her clients benefit from living healthier lifestyles, Amy is ready to guide you.

Dedicated to working with people to improve health and wellness, she can navigate you through all the information out there to guide you to make the best eating choices for you specific needs.  Nutrition counseling uses scientific knowledge, combined with years of study and experience.  Ultimately the most important part of the equation is you.  Your ideas, thoughts and concerns are the most important part.  You are the one in charge of your health and I am here to guide and challenge you to make changes.  The goal is for those changes to be long lasting and improve your life.  Often times it is the small changes can reap big rewards in improving how you feel.

Many realize that eating healthy can make you feel better but many times get stuck in the same patterns.  Amy can help get past some of these sticking points and help to facilitate change.  Ultimately everyone wants to feel better, sleep better and feel better in their clothes.  Meeting with Amy can help you set goals and help you achieve the wellness you want.

Whether is helping to get a healthy quick meal on the table for dinner or challenging a picky eater or navigating a new diagnosis of diabetes.

A Registered Dietitian

When a Health Coach is Just Not Enough

A registered dietitian is more than just a health coach. To become a registered dietitian, you must complete a Bachelor’s Degree program and additional training of 1000 hours focusing on all aspects of nutrition. As a result, Amy has an extensive background in many aspects that benefit those seeking assistance in keeping a healthier lifestyle or helping to manage chronic health concerns.

Amy has completed her

  • BS in Food and Nutrition SUNY Plattsburgh
  • MS in Nutrition from the University of Buffalo
  • Has worked in a variety of nutrition related fields such as clinical, geriatrics, nutrition counseling, menu and meal planning development, pediatrics and nutrition through the life cycle.
  • CDCES- Certified diabetes care and education specialist- requires a minimum of 1000 hours of counseling people with diabetes plus taking a certification exam.

One of my favorite ways to view healthy eating is Wegman’s food philosophy of “Good, Better, Best.” We are always trying to do a good job, we can always do a little better and some days we are at our best. One of the things I love most about my career is that there is always something to learn. Maybe there is a new way to present things, or a new medication or new disease state. Healthcare is always changing and finding a way to incorporate these changes into the everyday is what makes this the most challenging but rewarding at the same time.

Amy is AMAZING. I started visits with her as part of a bariatric surgery program. During the first year we worked together to understand how nutrition affects MY body. Her program is very customized; every body is different and she helped me find what works for me. It’s been two years and I’ve made so much progress. Visits with Amy were so productive and meaningful-I elected not to have surgery & I’m the healthiest I’ve ever been in my life. I know I did much of the hard work, but I don’t think I would have come this far if it wasn’t for Amy. I highly recommend her for your dietician / nutritionist needs.

I was in a place where I got stuck and I explained to Amy before going in that I needed someone to help me to get back on track and help me with accountability. I can't say enough with how helpful Amy was. Showing me little easy tricks to make my life easier by doing simple things with food prep and having things available so I would make right choices. Amy was a great listener, learning from me how the typical day for me is ( which is far from normal being self employed of a 24hr business , add onto it the covid and all the obstacles, both personally and in a business). Thank you Amy! I know I can reach out to you if I need to and I appreciate your help!
